Bizzy Buzzy Bumble Bees!

The challenge over at Anyone for Anya this week is to take inspiration from this photo . . . .

I have used the creeper crew stamp 'Monday' and given her a cute bumble bee outfit! Teamed with some fabulous free digital downloads from Craftastical, it has come together to make this:

I coloured the image with promarkers, for the skin I used blush and coral, hair, boots and other greys I used cool greys 1-4, for the yellows, I used tulip yellow & gold and the outline/eyes was pastel blue.

Edges were inked with Gathered Twigs distress ink.

Swirly Whirly

The challenge over at Totally Gorjuss is 'Swirly Whirly'

I used an Anya digi stamp cut out with a nestie and coloured with promarkers. I used the 'loopy' die from sizzix for the 'Swirly Whirly' part of the challenge (and it matches the swirls on the cupcake too!)

I used all 'old' stash for this card, the main paper is a MM booklet of cute papers, the striped paper is from a 6x6 pad. The chipboard button is from an Upcycle set I have left over from a holiday (vacation) and the happy birthdays are from a Tonic phrase roller.

Digi Image Challenge

I have caught the bug recently with printed and stamped images to colour, this particular one is from Saturated Canary.

Over at Crafty Catz, the challenge is to use a Digi Image.

I chose to use a saturated canary image called 'honey', she is a cute lil lady with a bunny by her feet! I coloured her with Promarkers, still learning to use them & the detail on these images makes some things easier and others needing the ultra fine tips!

I also had a play with some Stampin Up ribbon, I coloured it using promarkers then blasted it with a heat tool to dry it and crinkle it up. The mats were made from plain cardstock coloured with promarkers to co-ordinate with the image. The happy birthday text was added using a roller tool from Tonic that you can roll out happy birthday sentiments in different fonts!

Thinking Of You

This weeks saturated canary challenge is 'thinking of you'

I used 'Honey' for the card and coloured her with Promarkers. Matted with Stampin' Up! card left over from my demonstrator days and an offcut of coloured/embossed cardstock. The pearls around the edge of the nestie are actually dressmakers pins pushed through a dimensional sticky pad!  The sentiment was printed onto cardstock, cut out and atuck on to the card, the ribbon is plain white cotton tape.

Please excuse the photographs, my little miss has borrowed the camera so it was photographed in an artificially lit room using my phone!

Here is a slightly more 'normal' one, still taken by phone but in daylight . . .

Beaded Birthday!

The new challenge over at  Promarkers is to 'bead it!'

Sounds a simple enough challenge - but its been a while since I used beads for anything and I am quite out of practice! These little beads just dont keep still!

I threaded them onto thin wire and wound it around a scalloped circle nestie, then placed the layered image over the top, trapping the beads! I used an old cardstock from a stack, maybe DCWV Nanas Nursery? and some papermania Portobello papers (loving the colours and designs of these!)

The image I used is a Greeting Farm Digi Stamp, Cupcake Anya and it was coloured using promarkers. I added the sentiment to a strip of card using one of the new Tonic 'Happy Birthday' Funky Pattern Tape. It's a great little tool, like a glue roller but with Happy Birthday in different fonts ready to just roll out!

Pirate Princess!

The challenge over at Anyone for Anya is to make a card with a pirate theme. I didn't particularly want to go down the traditional pirate route, instead going for a cute image (chibi drink) and colouring her to look like a pirates serving girl with pirate themed backing papers & Elements from Jamie Dell.

This was my first time colouring a greeting farm image, and it was so much fun! This particular image is very versatile and can be used for a different theme just by using different colours and shading in the dress and hair!

I would also like to enter this card into the current  Passion for Promarkers challenge to use Ribbons & Buttons and the Farm Fresh Challenge 'anything goes'

Whoopsi Daisy!

The new Whoopsi Daisy challenge is to use your stash!

I used a 6x6 pad and embellishments from the Upcycle collection, it was purchased a while ago for a holiday (vacation) scrapbook project and there was TONS left over! I also added some stick on rhinestones and my new fave embellishment, household pins!

Thanks for looking!

Multi Challenge Card!

I was inspired by a couple of challenge blogs for this particular card, The image is by Saturated Canary and their challenge this week is to use twine, I used it in 2 places, wound around some patterned paper in the top right hand corner and I used it to make the butterfly antennae and body on the small embellishment at the bottom.

I was also inspired by I {Heart} Promarkers challenge to use x3 patterned papers, I used 3 completely different ones, 2 were scraps and one from a 6x6 pad. And finally the totally gorjuss challenge blog is asking for spots and stripes on the card!

So there we go! I am LOVING my promarkers, you already guessed that though!

Cute & Cuddly

I have recently come across the dutch dare challenge blog and this weeks challenge is 'cute & cuddly'

I want to enter with this cute and cuddly Gorjuss Girl stamp called bear hug. I have coloured it with pro-markers and layered it up with papers from the papermania Portobello Road collection. I coloured one sheet of the paper with Promarkers to make it co-ordinate better with the coloured image.

Spring is in the Air!

Getting to grips a little more with the Promarkers, I have limited myself to just the limited edition spring colours on this spring themed card challenge from 2 Sisters Challenge Blog.

Their challenge was to create a spring themed card, so I have used this Digi Stamp from Wee Stamps called Sweet Blossom and only the Spring Limited edition Promarker pens from letraset, plus the blender pen. I cut out the image using a nestability and cut out a white scalloped mat which i then coloured with a Promarker to co-ordinate it. I added some ribbon from my stash to a piece of card which was edged with a promarker and attached everything together.

It was a challenge to limit myself to one set of colours when it came to blending, but I found waiting for the pens to dry and then going over the colour again gave me some deeper shadowed areas, the blender helped with light areas and the image came together better than I expected!

I cannot recommend the spring colours enough, they all work together perfectly, there is even a skin tone and skin accent colour in there, I am looking forward to further sets being released in the coming year if they work together as this one does!
